This week’s rain made me feel like if Phoenix had more than two seasons (hot & and not so hot)… Since it kind of feels like fall, and I’ve been seeing lots of recipes for apples, I got inspired to make my protein shake into an apple pie!
1 cup milk (I used almond milk)
1/2 large apple – chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
2 pinches of nutmeg
Place chopped apple in a microwave safe dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon & nutmeg and cook for 1 minute or until they’re soft.
In a blender mix all ingredients including the apples. Blend until smooth. Serve and sprinkle with additional cinnamon.
If you want to serve it warm, warm the milk prior to blending. Do not cool the apples.
If you want to serve it cold, cool the apples prior to blending and add ice to the mix.
And there you have it! An instant dessert in your protein shake.
