1st biweekly check-in results
Last Tuesday was my first check-in with my diet Coach after following his program for 14 days.
The verdict? GREAT progress!
Things are definitely tightening up already. I lost 5 lbs so that brought me down to 135. I lost an inch here and there but the biggest change was in my abdominal area. I no longer look bloated all the time… love it!
This means the contest prep will be a smooth ride from now on. I want to take things slowly and be ready ahead of time. Specially since it’s my first show and don’t know exactly how my body will react when trying to get extremely lean. I DO NOT want to be panicking as I get close to the finish line and worry that I won’t be ready. I want to be 100% confident I can do it! I’m so anal about that and that’s probably why it took me so long to decide to do a show. I didn’t want to do it before I knew I had enough muscle to be somewhat competitive on the stage… I want to look like I belong there!
So my feedback from the Coach is no changes to the diet but now I can get a little creative with what I eat as long as I don’t deviate from the program. NO CARDIO! woohoo!!! And the BEST part is that now I can have a FREE meal once a week! (for now at least).
For those of you that don’t know, a free meal is one where I can eat whatever I want without worrying about what it is nor the calories… A.K.A. cheat meal.
HOWEVER, there are some rules to it:
1) It is best to have your free meal on a workout day and time it before your workout. For me this means I will need to do it on Sundays as it’s when I do my hardest/longest workout.
2) It has to be a normal amount of food and it’s NOT a binging session! If you’re not hungry when the next scheduled meal comes around, that means you ate too much on your free meal. Here is the thing, what Erik doesn’t know is that I have a bottomless pit!!! hahaha! This girl knows how to eat! lol!
3) I have to keep in mind that I can easily undo all of my week’s progress in one single meal if I’m not careful
Sooooo, having said that I now have a dilemma! What should I have for my free meal? Hmmmm…. I’m craving sooo many things! A hamburger from Joe’s Farm Grill, Pizza from Grimaldi’s, Pasta from Oreganos, Sushi from Shogun, plus other stuff.
I guess you’ll find out on Sunday what I decide to have 😉
So many choices! It’s funny how you miss the things when you know you can’t have them. What’s your favorite free meal?
