I decided to blog each day until show time to give you an update on how I feel, how I am doing, or any other thing that goes on before the big day. It may be a small post or maybe a lengthy one to describe the final details of my prep. I would love to look back at this journal one day (maybe when I’m 90 lol) and re-live the details of this exciting time. Preparing for the first show is a big deal in my opinion since you have no idea how everything will go on the competition day. All you can do is just “imagine” what it will be like. At this point I’m still a virgin in competitions so the first time will be something that I will carry with me for many years to come.
You may think I’m corny but I want to savor each moment and enjoy it. Regardless of how I place, I won’t care because I know I’ve given it my ALL and I won’t be filled with COULD OF’s, SHOULD OF’s and WOULD OF’s.
So how am I doing today? Let me just start with I’m HUNGRY!!! OMG! Nothing seems to satisfy me these days. Thank goodness Thursday is refeed day! I can’t wait!
As of tomorrow I’m cutting all artificial sweeteners except Stevia since that’s natural. The leaner I get any kind of bloating shows more. I think the culprit of my bloatiness (sorry, TMI) is artificial sweeteners. No more Walden Farms Pancake syrup, Torani syrups, diet sodas and sugar free gum! Not that I use a lot of it but even a little bit here and there it’s not good for me at this point.
As far as energy goes…. some days are harder than others but I’m still very strong in the gym and I’m still lifting heavy. I don’t know how long this will last but I’ll take it as far as my body is okay with it. I still haven’t done any cardio! I can’t imagine doing cardio on top of my training… I really bow to ya’ll figure competitors that have to put in your daily cardio. I really mean that!
However, the Coach added an Ab/Core circuit workout on Tuesdays & Fridays. These circuits feel like cardio! By the end of my 30 minutes I’m dying! See, I told you, I’m a chicken when it comes to cardio lol!
Yesterday was legs & delts
Here is a video of last night’s leg press workout – I did 305 lbs x 7 reps for 3 sets. I set my feet low in order to hit the quads more than any other muscle on my leg. Go to 90 degrees without lifting your heels and your butt from the chair.
I hope you all have a fantastic day!
