I hope you had a great weekend and most of all, I hope you have an even better time this week! We only work 4 days after all so what’s not GREAT about that? I’m really looking forward to grilling some burgers for 4th of July!
My weekend was kind of fast but that’s because I was just having too much fun and didn’t want it to end!
I started my weekend early on Friday as I only work 4 hours on Fridays. So by 10:30 am I was done with work and that’s when the fun began! I went shopping for food props and pizza grilling stuff.
I’ve been wanting to grill a pizza for a long time and finally had the guts to do it …. but it was a bust
…. Sorry guys, I won’t be sharing an amazing pizza recipe soon. The crust was “meh” so I’m still on the hunt for a good crust recipe. The toppings and the sauce were great! But until I have one complete recipe, I won’t share it :-/
Despite some of the large meals I had this weekend, I managed to lose a pound! That happened without me even trying… without counting calories or measuring my food. Just eating by intuition. It’s amazing how things happen when you stop obsessing about food right? Well, I still think about food since I’m a foodie but that’s a different story than counting every single macronutrient! All I worry now is to get my required protein for the day (about 130 grams) with good fats and carbs.
Brekkie – yummy Greek Yogurt + Granola + 1/2 apple + Chia seeds
Lunch – I met with my Chicas at a great Mexican restaurant and had the Green Chilaquiles from the brunch menu. They were delicious! And I even had a Sangria! (If you know me, you’ll see that I never drink my calories. I like to eat them! So I normally just have water with my meals)
Dinner – My Tall, Dark & Handsome hubby and I went to dinner for California Pizza Kitchen. I had their half order of Moroccan Chicken Salad
Sunday’s Breakfast was an Egg/Turkey bacon sammich (sorry, no photo)
We then went to the gym for a killer workout! We did Chest, Back and Bis (all done with very strict form)
Bench – 100 lbs x 8 x 3
Incline DB flies – 30 lbs x 10 x 3
Incline Chest Press – 90 lbs x 8 x 3
Seated rows – 120 lbs x 8 x 3
Lat pulldowns – 90 lbs x 8 x 3
Cable kneeling rows – 75 lbs x 8 x 3
Bis (same workout as previous post)
By the time we were done with the gym we were starving so we headed over to Wildflower Bread Company
and I ordered my favorite salad from their menu: Mediterranean Salad – with double chicken (a girl must get her protein intake somehow right?)
For dinner we made an amazing grilled Pork Tenderloin with a side of green beans and some rice – and yes, I’ll posting the recipe soon because it was so delicious!
On another note, I recently came across Emily’s blog “Commit to Fit” and loved her workout posts! She really knows how to kill it in the gym. I really like her workout style and I’ll definitely continue to follow her journey. Visit her blog HERE – Commit To Fit
