Facebook and “Interest Lists”

This was posted on Facebook by a friend and since I didn’t know about the “Add to the interest lists” I figured many of you don’t know about it either. So I must share this!

You may have noticed that you aren’t getting as many updates from pages you’ve LIKED in your newsfeed as you used to. I noticed it–I thought something was weird because I could whip through my newsfeed so fast and I knew something was missing but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Well, now FB has changed things so that only 10% of a page’s “likers” will receive updates, basically forcing page admin

istrators to spend money to promote their posts to the rest of the people on the list. Unless you create an Interest List, which is basically a list of all the pages you *really* like and want to make sure you receive updates from, you won’t get those updates. For some, that might be welcome news but for me, I like pages because I want to hear from them. So if you’re like me and want to get updates from your favorite pages (and hopefully my page will be one of them!), do the following:

To keep on RECEIVING POSTS you have to OPEN THE PAGE, hover the mouse on the “Like” button near the gear symbol. In the pop-up select “ADD TO THE INTEREST LISTS”. If you haven’t created an Interest List yet, you’ll need to do that first and then when you go to a new page and want to LIKE it, also add it to your Interest List.
Doing so will assure that you continue getting posts from the pages you love (including mine šŸ˜‰ )
