Caipirinha (Regular & Skinny Version)

Caipirinha (Regular & Skinny Version)P I N_______I M A G E

Seems that every year Paul and I pick a new “favorite” drink and this year’s happens to be Caipirinhas. Well, this obsession started about a year ago when we went to eat at Fogo de Chão (a Brazilian restaurant) and the love affair is still going strong! So it’s about time I share this recipe with you.

I have to give my hubby lots of credit since he helped me find the perfect combination between sugar & lime. My version was kind of blah since I wasn’t putting enough sugar (afraid of the calories of course) and then he took over and kept adding sugar until it reached the perfect taste. After I tried his version I said screw the calories and just enjoyed it:)

Now that the weather is getting warmer, I finally started de-fluffing (a.k.a. losing weight) and working on my summer body.  In order to enjoy my Caipirinhas year round, I smartened up and made a skinny simple syrup . I used Truvia as I feel it’s the non-calorie sweetener with the least “after taste”. But you’re more than welcome to use your preferred non-calorie sweetener.

So which version will you have? It doesn’t matter as long as you try it!

I prefer to use Truvia as I feel it's the one with the least "after taste" from all the other non-calorie sweeteners. But you're more than welcome to use your preferred non-calorie sweetener.
Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup of Truvia (or 15 individual Truvia packets).
  • 2 cups water
Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan add both ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Mix with a wooden spoon and remove from heat once the sweetener dissolves.
  3. It can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks
